Be You Yoga and Ayurveda

Michelle Patino, owner of Be You Yoga and Ayurveda, offers private yoga and life coaching sessions. Michelle also provides diet & lifestyle practices. She serves individuals who want to improve their physical and mental health. Michelle practices and teaches Ayurveda, and treats all her students holistically through an Ayurveda lens. Michelle was inspired to start her own business when she fell in love with yoga in 2008. She noticed the change it made to her body and her mind. She became certified in 2016. Michelle wanted to bring awareness to her students of the benefit of Yoga and Ayurveda. She started by teaching private classes from home studio, the homes of her students, and local yoga studios, until she was ready to open her storefront!  
Michelle signed up as an SBDC client in August 2022 to get advice on how to open her storefront business. We connected her with our generalist consultant Haley Hoover, which has a great deal of knowledge with health and wellness businesses. Haley and Michelle worked closely with creating a business and marketing plan. They discussed the pros and cons of having a storefront business. Haley also provided financial templates that would help Michelle better track her budget for the physical location. With the guidance of our amazing consultant Haley, Michelle launched her storefront yoga studio on September 30th 2022! She has since begun seeing clients and has increased her revenue from opening. Michelle also invested $20,000 into the startup cost with good budgeting practices. Michelle is now working with our consultant Chris Carroll to learn on how to build and run her own website. This will lead to more clientele and increase her revenue for the upcoming year.
