A new food business training program with ties to a City of Bakersfield grant program is among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.

Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Celeste Young-Ramos, CEO of the Restaurant Success Center. Young-Ramos will provide details on CSUB’s Extended Education and Global Outreach training program with individual modules designed to help existing and new food and beverage businesses become more profitable. Expected to open in late July, successful completion of the online Bakersfield Foodservice Management Program allows the business to apply for a $5,000 or $10,000 grant through the City of Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Technical Assistance and Grant Program.

The webinar will begin with Bearden providing a look at the economy, updates on availability of capital resources programs, and weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local, state, and federal governments.

Questions from attendees will be taken.

This marks the 282nd episode of the free weekly “Webinar Wednesday” business series that provides news and information helpful to employers and business owners.
