Helping Your Business Start, Grow and Succeed
"Working with Spencer has had an incalculable impact on my business and its success. His guidance, resources, and experience have helped guide me on many paths I otherwise would not have known to take and ways of working and thinking that have set me and my business up with a solid foundation and primed for growth. I am very thankful for his support and could not recommend Spencer and the SBDC more. They have been a key part of my small business journey" - Casey Hogue.

Serotonin Creative Consultancy

Casey Hogue, owner of Serotonin Creative Consultancy, came to Valley Sierra SBDC in February of 2022. Casey had a little less than a year of launching his marketing consultancy business. He has been in the field of marketing for over 20 years, but was fairly new to the business owner world. He was seeking some guidance on business operations, finances, and access to capital.

Casey Hogue got connected with our consultant Spencer Hamilton to assist with his business operations, sales growth, and access to capital. Spencer advised Casey on how to create a business plan to apply for some funding. They also worked on customer development and sales tactics to increase his revenue and pursue a financial strategy. Casey also worked on getting connected with the Modesto Chamber of Commerce to make connections with organizations that aligned with his vision.

Through working with the SBDC, Casey was able to secure a line of credit through Valley First Credit Union and has hired a part time employee. Through the connections that Casey made through the Modesto Chamber of Commerce, he was informed about the California Green Business Network and applied for the Green Certification. After the process of applying and getting his home office inspected, he has received the Green Business Certification, certifying that his business does in fact have sustainable green business practices!
