Modesto Fish Company Inc., Modesto, CA

In March of 2020, Modesto Fish contacted Valley Sierra SBDC for assistance. The services initially requested were regarding application assistance in applying for the EIDL and PPP funding. Valley Sierra SBDC Consultant Claudia Newcorn contacted the client and assisted in the PPP application as well as assisting in vendor relationship strategy and an updated social media presence. Another consultant, Lourdes Uranday assisted with human resource issues involving employment status.

The client was approved and accepted PPP funding, as well as a grant from the Stanislaus County Grant Award program for small business owners. Joe and Maria Perez, owners of Modesto Fish since 2001 were able to stay in business during the COVID crisis and had 7 jobs retained.
