Farm Truck Catering

“Working with the SBDC is a great experience — having access to a knowledgeable business advisor gave me the support and insight I needed to confidently grow and expand my business. Rhonda was a huge help, and I recommend the SBDC to any business owner who is looking to gain the resources needed to advance their business.” – John Gardner, Owner

Farm Truck Catering is an event catering company that focuses on fresh, farm-to-table cuisine. The business was started with the goal of creating delicious meals for any occasion. Whether customers choose from a set menu or want to design something custom, Farm Truck Catering works closely with them to bring their ideas to life. Their business is dedicated to using quality ingredients and providing a memorable experience for every event.
John Gardner, owner of Farm Truck Catering, was inspired to start his business in honor of his grandfather’s legacy. During the Dust Bowl Era, Gardner’s great-grandfather left Oklahoma in search of a better life. When he arrived in Delhi, he started a farm from the ground up. Gardner wanted his business to be built on the same values of hard work, hope, and connection to the land that held importance to his grandfather. Farm Truck Catering is more than a business, but a family legacy that has been passed down through generations, continuing the dream that began many years ago.

When Gardner connected with the SBDC, he was looking for support in formally establishing his business. He did not yet have a business plan and wanted to expand his services but was unsure of the proper steps to take. Through his advising with the SBDC, we were able to connect him to a business advisor who provided guidance in the key areas he needed, helping him move his business forward with confidence.
The SBDC was able to guide the client through the entire process of establishing his business, including licensing, creating a business plan, and planning for future expansion. Before working with the SBDC, Gardner was operating his business informally, but with the support of his business advisor, Rhonda Lowe, he received answers to all his questions about permitting and step-by-step guidance in obtaining his license. As of July 2025, Farm Truck Catering is officially a legal business and has been fully operational.
